Deepavali in 2022: Ritual Video, Katha, Story, and Procedure: The celebrations begin on "Amavasya," or the new moon in the Hindu month of Kartik, with cleaning, decorating, lighting the lamps, and lighting ideas. This year, it will be widely observed on Monday, October 24, when it falls.


Dhanteras on October 22 will kick off the five-day Diwali celebrations, which will conclude with Bhai Dooj on October 26. People gather to celebrate Diwali on the third day. On the other hand, Amavasya Tithi lasts from October 24 until October 25 and starts at 05:27 PM on October 24.


According to Drik Panchang, a full day of fasting should be observed on Diwali. Either a Mirjana fast (during which no water may be consumed) or a Phalahar fast (during which fruit consumption is permitted) should be observed. By the Lagna, the Pradesh time, and the Amavasya tithi, the puja must be performed during the proper muhurta.
